The Loxwood Joust, Loxwood

This is a unique opportunity to step back in time and experience medieval mayhem at its best! The jousting itself comes alive with the thunder of hooves and the furious snorting of horses followed by the clashing of sword upon sword – it is a spectacle to behold.

surrey summer 2017 family and children activitiesI went last year with my 2 little ones and they soaked up every bit of the atmosphere. There is a kid’s area offering fun entertainment with a jester and they can even try their hand at sword fighting. There are learning zones and interactive talks around the festival as well as a stage with groups singing and playing medieval music. There are plenty of food and drink stalls providing the opportunity to sample some tasty medieval recipes. Beware of the Executioner wandering around, he’s rather daunting– he will tell you all about the crimes and punishment in the Middle Ages!
